The ASX has the advanced 4WD technology which comes from the Mitsubishi motors’ unique concept of ‘All Wheel Control (AWC)’. It uses technologies we’ve been developing over many years. It means you get better cornering, stability, and handling.
ACTIVE STABILITY CONTROL
A bit of detail how the ASC works
Active Stability Control analyses the vehicle’s motion and identifies any unstable movement. It then automatically distributes torque and braking power to the left or right wheels to maintain stability.

Sporty F1-style paddle shifters on the steering column make changing gears easy. They allow you to keep your hands on the steering wheel and stay in control.
AUTO STOP AND GO SYSTEM (AS&G)
Cut back on fuel waste and emissions
With the Auto Stop & Go system, the ASX engine shuts off at traffic stops. This cuts fuel waste and CO2 emissions without disrupting the electronic systems. The engine restarts immediately when you press the accelerator.
CRUISE CONTROL
Drive long distances and feel relaxed
Cruise Control allows you to automatically maintain your car's speed without keeping your foot on the accelerator pedal. It makes longer journeys much more relaxed. To release it, simply press the brake pedal.
DIRECT INJECTION TURBO ENGINE
A responsive and economical engine
The ASX has a 2.0L, 16-valve inline 4-cylinder Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system (MIVEC) engine. It’s available in 5-speed manual or CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Our MIVEC engines have lighter aluminium engine blocks which result in maximum power output, fuel efficiency and better environmental performance.
SUV Capability
Reaping the benefits of an SUV
The ASX has all the advantages you’d expect from a much larger SUV, but in a smaller package. A high driving position allows you to see more of the road ahead. The MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspensions make driving on rough roads smooth and comfortable. The shock absorbers and stabilizers are precision-tuned for responsive handling and sporty performance.
