Authorized Mitsubishi
dealers Zayani Motors recently participated in the 4th
Mitsubishi Motors GCC Press Conference that was conducted
last week in Dubai, UAE.
Present at the event were
Statuary Auditor of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC)- Mr.
Yukio Okamoto, General Manager of Middle East & Africa FZE,
Dubai, UAE- Mr. Atsuki Tofukuji, President of Middle East &
Africa FZE, Dubai, UAE- Mr. Katsuya Onoda and
representatives of Mitsubishi dealerships across the GCC.
Addressing the event was
President of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), Japan Mr.
Osamu Masuko who spoke about the recent business development
plans, financial status and global and regional strategies
to be adapted in enhancing Mitsubishi sales.
‘Mr. Masuko’s visit today
reinforces the importance of our ever growing automobile
markets to the global resurgence of Mitsubishi Motors,’ said
Mr. Nawaf Al Zayani, Managing Director of Zayani Motors at
the event.
Despite current market
scenarios, MMC recorded sales of 445,000 units and net sales
of 573 billion Yen for the first half of the year.
‘Thanks to the tremendous
efforts and strong support from all our distributors here
today, we are now back on track to return to previous
operational levels,’ said Mr. Masuko.
Mr. Masuko also announced
the establishment of Mitsubishi Motors Middle East and
Africa FZE in Dubai that will handle and support marketing,
after-sales, parts supply and R&D in the MENA region.
Speaking on the future
plans Mr. Masuko said, ‘Mitsubishi Motors is committed to
developing environmentally friendly vehicles that combine
ingenious design and high-efficiency technology to bring
savings to the environment and reduce running costs.’
‘The automobile industry
has entered a stage where it is time to change to more
environmentally friendly-customer choices and this has
commenced with the introduction of our latest
‘zero-emission’ technology vehicle i-MiEV which will be
launched early next year,’ he continued.
Keeping in mind the
customers’ requirements and changing buying patters
worldwide, Mr. Masuko also discussed plans of introducing a
new line-up to the current Pajero, Pajero Sport and Lancer
EX by 2011.
Osamu Masuko has been a
Mitsubishi veteran for over 35 years and from January 2005
took over as Mitsubishi's President and Chief Operating
Officer; the man responsible for taking Mitsubishi back on
track on its successful path to profitability.
